Self Care and Slow Stitching !!

There seems to be a trend going on with a stitch that I grew up doing.
funny how things go in and out of Season, anyway I am enjoying this new
interest.
Slow stitching  can be one of your self-care routines at the end of the day,
it allows you time to slow down.
I find that no matter when I take the time to sit and sew a few stitches
it puts me in a place of Grace.
Make a  little time and treat yourself.

The Fabulous Four

I am in love with the fabulous four, denim, words with text, African print fabric, and lace. These four fabrics are fantastic alone and superbly combined with each other.

The mighty Denim always looks good and works well with others, try playing with the four for a great stress buster and overflow of creativity. Sneak a text strip in between an African print and a slice of denim and see the effect it has on your body of work.

These fabrics have been around for many years and have stood the test of time. The fabric for the text and the African print is 100% Cotton, Denim, and Lace need no explanation. Visit EbonQuilts.com and follow the journey of the fabulous four.

Sharing Sunday Part 4

Sorry for not posting last week and being late this week. In the last blog, we talked about applying for the larger craft shows and what the application process is like. I think I hit most of the important parts, if you have a question, just ask. I know we are still in somewhat of a pandemic, we will get back to normal one day and I want all African American crafters to realize that you can use what skills you have to add to your income and to know that we all need more than one source of income, this is really important to know even if you do not do anything about it.

The price to be a vendor various from show to show I like 3-day shows or weekend shows, it takes a lot of planning to be included in a show, you have to anticipate how much inventory is needed for 3 days, you can not run out of inventory!!!. The fee will be somewhat high for some the fee will include the space size, tent if you do not have your own. or if your own does not fit the show requirements, table, (how many) chairs (how many) if you need electricity or Wi-FI.

Even though the price can start at 300 dollars and go up if you plan you can make your money back and make a profit. ( your money back is what you paid to do the show) Doing a 3-day show allows you the opportunity to make a good profit. Part 5 will still be on your Booth.

Have a good week,

Rosa

Sharing Sunday Part 3

we are still on the application, it really does not take a long time to fill it out if you have all your info together. last week I talked about your pictures, maybe I should have talked about the part of the application that applies to you the crafter, your Business name, type of products you make, materials used, price range.

Sometimes a picture of you making the product is required and also a picture of your booth. we will talk about that later especially if this is your first time. It is helpful if you have a website or some online presence, not required but helpful. You will be asked to describe your business in 200 or more words, all of the above goes along with your pictures, which will need to be label according to the direction. Do a check of your application to make sure there are no empty spaces and everything is as you want it to be. Submit!!

I know we are still in a pandemic, but we will come out of this and I hope more AAcrafters will take advantage of showing their craft and increasing their income.

Subscribe and leave me a comment.

next week we will talk about setting up your booth.

enjoy your week,

Rosa

Sharing Sunday !!

Sharing Sunday,
Part 2 of Application
Last week we left off with completing the application. Now that you have the application and you have read it through, you now need to figure out what local permits you need, sometimes you will need more than the application if you have not registered   your business with  the Dept of Revenue for your state  speak to
an accountant to see what's best for you because whoever is the promoter for the event will have to turn in all vendors for tax purposes.
Most applications are online now, the application will require at least four o five pictures of you and your products, make sure to follow the rules in regards to how your products are made. and if they can be made from a kit. This is your presentation so do your best in taking and staging your products, make sure that your pictures meet the resolution required this is important, you want the viewer to be able to see your products, this is the method used to decide if you will be accepted in the show.
Next week will be part 3 of the application process.
Have a good week,
Rosa

Sharing!!

I am starting a new Sunday series helping A A Crafter apply for some of the larger Juried Shows.

I did not get into my first show, because of poor PRESENTATION. I have learned a lot since that

time and want to share.

First, there are many ways to find shows, you have to decide how far you want to travel whether

you will stay overnight because the bigger shows are (3days) the weekend. You can search online,     https://festivalnet.com,, Fairs and Festivals.net. Look for Festival and craft shows near your town.

If this is your first time being a vendor,  or if you are a season vendor this info is helpful now because we are still in a pandemic.

When you get your online application make sure to read the entire application first, make sure you can meet all the requirements before the deadline. You can do this it may take a little time to work through all the information pack, we can and we should start being in the game.

Next week we will still be on the application.

Enjoy Your Sunday and Come back next week for more info.

Wellness Wednesday #15

Wellness Wednesday,
When you feel lost and hopeless, somethings to consider.
Self improvement can lead to specific changes that you
can make in your life.
Be honest with your self and be careful of  the lies you tell yourself. We all tell our selves stories  to help us cope.
Negative emotions can be just as POWERFUL as
POSTIVE ones. When will "enough be enough" for you? When will you decide that you no longer want the
negative in your life?Once you make that decision  everything will change.
Great questions lead to good answers, ask question about your life now and what needs to be changed, the
answer you come up with will lead to a better future.
Read a book, reading books dose not change your life in and of itself, but they can inspire you and expand your mind and open  your eyes to what's possible.

Subscribe  and have a great day,
Rosa
